Will Hughes and Jonathan Mitchell have been named in England Under-21s final squad for this summer’s upcoming UEFA European Under-21 Championship Finals in Poland.

The pair had been named in Aidy Boothroyd’s 28-man squad for a training camp leading up to the tournament, but the pair have impressed enough to make the final cut.

The Three Lions will kick-off their Euro Finals campaign next Friday (16th June) when they take on Sweden, whilst they will also face Slovakia (Monday 19th June) and hosts Poland (Thursday 22nd June) in Group A.

All three games will be played at the Kielce Stadium.

Hughes, the 22-year-old midfielder, has been a near mainstay in the England Under-21s squad since making his debut in November 2012.

The Derby County Academy graduate has made 21 appearances for his country and most recently captained Boothroyd’s side in their 4-0 win over Denmark towards the end of March.

Mitchell is one of three goalkeepers that has been selected to make the trip to Poland.

The 22-year-old shot stopper only made his Under-21s bow last November in a 3-2 defeat to France in Paris, but has impressed so much that he has made the final cut.
