Frank Lampard has told RamsTV that there may still be some activity involving Derby County as Transfer Deadline Day fast approaches.

The summer window will slam shut at 5pm on Thursday 9th August, leaving the Rams less than a week to finalise any permanent signings they wish to make for the remainder of 2018.

Without giving anything away, the Derby boss says any movements that are made on the transfer front will be with only one aim in mind – to improve the squad.

He has, however, insisted that he is happy with the squad that he has in place and with the quality that his five additions so far – Mason Mount, Harry Wilson, Florian Jozefzoon, Jack Marriott and George Evans – will bring to the table.

“There may be (some movement),” Lampard told RamsTV.

“There are no specifics because if there are people that we want to bring in then it will be to improve the squad.

“At the moment, those types of player will be with other clubs.

“We’re still looking at our squad as a whole – we’re constantly evaluating that and we will continue to do that right up to Deadline Day.

“What I will say, though, is that I am really pleased with what we have got now.”

He added: “I didn’t have a set target of what I wanted to do. I had a completely blank canvas when I came here and there were no expectations on players.

“I just wanted to see what we had as a group and I have been impressed with what I have seen. I have added where I think we could improve and I think those players we have brought in have improved us. I’m happy.”
