Derby County will kick-start the second half of their Sky Bet Championship campaign at Bramall Lane on Boxing Day against Sheffield United, kick-off: 3pm.

The Boxing Day fixture will come too soon for Tom Lawrence who picked up a knock against Nottingham Forest.


There are no new injury concerns, however Curtis Davies, Craig Forsyth, Mason Bennett, Joe Ledley and Marcus Olsson remain out of action.

It took just 19 seconds for Craig Bryson to put the Rams ahead of the Championship’s second-placed team at the time, who were riding a four-game winning run heading into the fixture at Pride Park Stadium.

Chris Basham tucked United level before half-time but there would only be one winner as the Rams looked in control.

Jack Marriott grabbed a second goal in as many games with a clever, flicked finish to move Derby up to fifth in the table.

WHO’S THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE…

Geoff Eltringham will be the man in the middle on Boxing Day when the Rams face the Blades. He has taken charge of 13 Sky Bet Championship fixtures so far this term producing 35 yellow cards and is yet to show a straight red.


Eltringham has officiated one fixture involving Derby so far this term, a 1-1 draw with Norwich City at Pride Park Stadium.

He will be assisted by Billy Smallwood and Matt Foley on the lines, whilst Ross Joyce has been appointed as the fourth official.
