Manager Frank Lampard has heaped huge praise on the Derby County supporters ahead of this afternoon’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Bristol City.

The Rams will be backed by a sold-out allocation for today's game against the Robins, and it’s not the first time the supporters have filled an away section this season.

Derby supporters have sold out their allocations several times this season including trips to Nottingham Forest, Birmingham City, Brentford and Aston Villa in 2019 alone.

And this afternoon’s crucial play-off battle is no different as Rams fans have sold their 2,700 allocated tickets, something which the manager was keen to pay tribute to.

“We massively appreciate their support, I have all season and I know the players do,” he told RamsTV. “The atmosphere at Pride Park Stadium on Monday when the nine minutes against Queens Park Rangers was put up for injury time was a defining moment in the game in my opinion.

“For the numbers they are going to travel to Bristol, which I know is a tough enough journey, is much appreciated and I hope that the players will give them the performance and the desire that they have for this club.

“If we can all work together in that way then we have every opportunity.”

Craig Bryson limped out of the Easter Monday victory over Queens Park Rangers, whilst Ashley Cole pulled up in the warm up and both look set to miss today's game.

“Ashley Cole is struggling because he has a small injury in the groin area, a muscle injury,” Lampard said. “Hopefully he won’t be much more than Saturday, but he will struggle to be involved.

“Duane Holmes is back in contention and Craig Bryson won’t be fit, we are still assessing him and the size of his injury but he won’t make the weekend.”
