Derby County are delighted to be joining clubs across the country in their support of LGBTQ+ inclusivity to raise awareness of Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign, which runs between 19th-30th October 2022.

Rainbow Laces have brought visibility for LGBTQ+ people in sport and awareness around our experiences.

More than a million people have laced up in recent years, and two thirds of sport fans who’ve seen the campaign believe they have a responsibility to stand in solidarity for LGBTQ+ fans of the teams and sports they follow. However, there is still much to do.

In support of the campaign, specific matchday activity will take place for the Rams’ Sky Bet League One clash at Pride Park Stadium against Bristol Rovers on Saturday 29th October (3pm kick-off).

Rainbow corner flags will be used on the day to highlight continued support for LGBTQ+ fans, players and staff right across the game.

Rainbow captain’s armbands and laces have also been provided to members of the playing squad, while the big screen and LED pitchside advertising assets will also display rainbow colours.

The club’s social media channels are also branded in rainbow colours throughout the campaign to show its support.

Derby will also offer their support to the campaign when they head to Ipswich Town on Friday 21st October (8pm kick-off), as the Tractor Boys have chosen the match as their designated Rainbow Laces fixture.

Lace up. Speak Up. Make sport everyone’s game.
