Derby County’s Under-21s picked up their first victory of the 2022/23 season with a 2-0 success at Queens Park Rangers on Monday night in their latest Premier League Cup outing.

Striker Bartosz Cybulski got the Rams off to a flying start after just seven minutes of the contest.

A second goal for Pat Lyons’ side came just before the half hour mark through defender Harrison Solomon to strengthen their grip on the game.

No further goals followed in the second half as the Rams held on to claim all three points and they remain in with a shout of reaching the knockout stages of the competition with five points to their name from four outings so far.

Max Bardell, Osazee Aghatise and Kwaku Oduroh, who have all been on the bench for the first team in recent weeks, picked up vital match minutes after being named in the starting line-up.

The Under-21s will head to local non-league side Graham Street Prims on Tuesday 6th December (7:45pm kick-off) in the Derbyshire Senior Cup for their next outing.

Lyons’ side will also host AFC Bournemouth at Loughborough University Stadium on Monday 12th December (7pm kick-off) and then head to Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday 19th December (7pm kick-off) to round off their Premier League Cup group campaign and 2022.
