The strength of opposition will not stop Derby County going all out for three points on Tuesday evening when they head to Plymouth Argyle, says Head Coach Paul Warne.

Plymouth currently occupy second place in Sky Bet League One and are 10 points above the Rams ahead of the midweek fixture (8pm kick-off).

And although Warne is wary of the Pilgrims' threat, he believes his side have more than enough to claim a positive result at Home Park.

Warne spoke to RamsTV and gave his full preview ahead of the long trip to the South West as the Rams look to move on from the 2-2 draw at home to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

On managing the quick turnaround...

Saturday/Tuesday matches cause the coaches more problems than the players, if I am honest. We need to get the messaging right about Saturday's game in our feedback to the players. At times I think it's the best we've played however that 10/15 minute spell after half time; we need to be better. There will be a little bit of good, a little bit of bad and a little bit of feedback when we speak to the lads, but we will also letting them know how close they are to being outstanding.

On moving on from Saturday...

The lads need to see the good stuff from Saturday because they were outstanding apart from around three attempts on goal, but those three attempts on goal could have a massive impact come the end of the season. Two points are massive. You want the lads to realise the importance of that but not be obsessed with it so they get so stiff in their shoulders and get nervous. You want the lads to be free, but also have responsibility.

On Tuesday night's clash at Plymouth...

If we'd have won on Saturday and we were to beat Plymouth Tuesday night, then it's game on in trying to challenge the top two. However, we didn't win on Saturday and if we don't win on Tuesday, the likelihood of us finishing in the top two is less likely. It is not impossible, but less likely.

We do need a positive result and I do understand that as fixtures go, it's a big week.

On Plymouth Argyle...

Every team in the league are quite good at their best and our job is to show the lads Plymouth at their best and their worst.

They play two different ways - they have an ability to play out but they also have a willingness to play direct. They have midfielders that run and their wing-backs are aggressive, they want to press you, but as do we.

When they played Peterborough United recently it was open and could have been 8-8, both teams were going for the win.

They are brave at home as we are away so it will be a really tough game. They've been really good at home and I think they've only lost to Port Vale at Home Park in the league. They can score goals for fun, but they also concede them. I like the way they play but they will be very difficult to play against, especially at their place.
