Derby County’s latest signing Tom Lawrence has been called up to the Wales international squad for their upcoming double-header at the start of next month.

Lawrence joined Derby last Tuesday from Premier League side Leicester City for an undisclosed fee to become Gary Rowett’s fourth summer signing.

He made his debut as a substitute in last Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship win at Bolton Wanderers before making his first start in a Rams shirt in the re-arranged Carabao Cup First Round victory at Grimsby Town earlier this week.

Chris Coleman’s Wales squad face two key 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Austria and Moldova as the group stages edge towards their conclusion.

Wales will take on Austria in Cardiff on Saturday 2nd September before heading to Chisinau to take on Moldova on Tuesday 5th September.

They current sit third in Group D behind group leaders Serbia and Republic of Ireland with four games left to play.

Lawrence, 23, has six full caps to his name for Wales since making his debut on the international stage back in 2015.
