Derby County’s Under-18s have been drawn to face Manchester United in the third round of this season’s FA Youth Cup.

The Rams will be pitting their wits against the competition’s most successful side, with the Red Devils having the lifted the FA Youth Cup title 10 times and finished runners-up on a further four occasions.

The mouth-watering draw will also see the sides currently placed first and third in Premier League – North go head-to-head for a place in the fourth round of the competition.

Justin Walker’s and Rory Delap’s side have already faced Manchester United on home soil, but fell to a 2-0 defeat in a tight game at the Training Centre in partnership with the University of Derby.

The Rams will go into the game looking to avoid an early exit from the FA Youth Cup after they were beaten at the Amex Stadium by Brighton & Hove Albion.

Third round ties must be played by Saturday 16 December, unless mutually agreed otherwise. The draw for the fourth-round proper will be made on Friday 8 December.
