The EFL is looking to recruit new Independent Non-Executive Directors
to its Board of Directors and has appointed Nolan Partners to head up
the search.
The vacancies have arisen as a result of Debbie Jevans CBE coming to the end of her maximum term as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director in summer 2023 (details below) and follows the departure of Simon Bazalgette late last year.
The new appointments will be required to spend a minimum of 24 days per annum on work for the EFL, including Board Meetings, the AGM (which includes the Owners’ and Executives’ Conference held over the two proceeding days), an annual Board away day and at least three all Club meetings per year.
This commitment will increase where the successful candidate is appointed to sub-committees of the Board and/or the EFL is undergoing a period of increased activity.
The EFL Board comprises three Directors from the Sky Bet Championship, two Directors from Sky Bet League One and One Director from Sky Bet League Two, each elected by the 24 Clubs in their respective divisions.
The remaining Directors are the Independent Non-Executive Chairman, EFL Chief Executive Officer and two Independent Non-Executive Directors.

Debbie Jevans CBE
Following more than eight years’ service and the conclusion of her term as Independent non-Executive Director, Debbie Jevans CBE will leave her position on the EFL Board after this year’s Annual General Meeting in June.
Having joined the EFL in 2014, Jevans went on to hold roles as Interim Chair and Executive Chair of the League between 2018 and 2019, before assuming her current position on the EFL Board as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director.
A former professional tennis player, Jevans was recently elected as vice-Chair of the All-England Lawn Tennis Club and will begin in her new post in the summer of 2023.
With an extensive career in sports management and administration that spans 30 years, Jevans had previously worked as Director of Sport for the Olympic Organising Committee for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Chief Executive Officer of the 2015 Rugby World Cup and Vice-Chair of Sport England.
Debbie Jevans said: “Having fulfilled a variety of roles at the EFL over the last eight years, it has been a pleasure to represent the EFL. The League comprises a great team of people and I would like to thank them, all Clubs and the wider game for all their support during my time here. I wish the EFL every success in the future.”
