Derby County defender Eiran Cashin says his goal in the Sky Bet League One victory over Charlton Athletic was an 'unreal moment' and that he's now trying to build on that moving forward.

Cashin scored his first goal of the campaign in last weekend's 2-0 win and finally got his hands on one of those all-important mugs from Head Coach Paul Warne. The mug, however, has not remained with him.

Speaking to RamsTV prior to Saturday's trip to Barnsley, the defender spoke about his goal, the last 12 months and who now has his mug!

On His Goal...

It was an unreal moment. I really enjoyed it and it's about time. I've had enough chances and the gaffer has spoken to me, telling me I need to add goals - so it's a bit of a weight off my shoulders that I finally got one.

It's always highlighted that we can be more aggressive from set-pieces so I'm just happy that I've finally got one.

On His Mug...

I don't drink tea or coffee but my Grandad does so I dropped it off to him yesterday and he was over the moon with it.

On Making His First League Start A Year Ago...

I remember it well, against Peterborough United. I wasn't expecting to start that game but I got the nod and it's been a rollercoaster since but hopefully now we're finally on that upward curve.

On The Statistics Showing He's 'Among The Best Players In League One' This Campaign...

I don't really pay any attention to that. My mum will have a look and show me the odd time but it doesn't really bother me, I just want to play football with this team and get promoted. I think it was Zlatan Ibrahimovic that said if he wanted to win trophies on his own then he would play a one man sport like golf, but I play a team sport because I want to win as a team.

On Craig Forsyth...

He's always been here. He's always been a face you knew coming through the Academy so for him to play for the club for so long, it shows what type of character and person he is to do that. He's such a nice guy and a funny person but is always serious on the field.

On The Team Spirit...

There's always banter in training and off-the-field stuff. We're always doing things together and helping each other out and I think that's just part of the ethos around the club. I think that shows on the pitch when we are playing.

On The Weekend Clash With Barnsley...

It's a massive game. We got a win against Charlton last time out and we need to build on that now and get another one. We know they are a good team and it's a tough place to go but we'll be ready and aiming to get three points.

On The 4,993 Fans Making The Trip To Oakwell...

It's unreal, honestly. It's more than some home attendances in the division so it's crazy to think that we bring that many away. They spend their hard-earned money on coming to watch us so it does mean a lot and hopefully we can get three points for them.
