Derby County Community Trust’s ‘Rams Family Support’ project has now been running since November, when Harrison’s Hub was opened as a community venue within Pride Park Stadium.

The Community Trust are now pleased to announce that Harrison’s Hub will remain open as a community venue for the entirety of the 2023/24 season.

Its initial aim was to provide a ‘pop up’ warm and welcome space for the community over the winter months, as part of Derby City Council’s ‘Warm Spaces’ initiative, which was in place until the end of March. This was the original timespan planned for the ‘Rams Family Support’ project, which was launched in response to the rising cost of living.

Due to additional funds raised by fans through this year’s 1884 Wall, weekly meals have been provided at the hub too.

As we now come to the end of April, the Community Trust are pleased to be running two more weeks of the community meals initiative before we pause activities for an internal review and refit of parts of the space, before returning with a summer timetable.

Other sessions taking place in Harrison’s Hub, including Team Talk, Extra Time Hub and Menopause Matters will continue running, but may be temporarily relocated on an ad-hoc basis. Participants will be informed directly if they are affected.

Harrison’s Hub will be opening for ‘Communi-tea’ – drop-in Tuesday sessions with hot drinks and soup, and our Community Meals – bookable Thursday meals, for weeks commencing 17th and 24th April.

Meals taking place on Thursday 20th and 27th April are still open for bookings here.

So far, thanks to fans’ support of the 1884 Wall, almost 1,000 meals have been distributed on Thursdays, with hundreds more participants supported through the drop-in Tuesday ‘Communi-tea’ activities.

Derby County Community Trust will be looking for ways to innovatively support the running of the venue, as original funds raised have covered off all delivery to date, and we’ll be providing more updates as they formalise plans.
