Derby County Women picked up three awards at The FA Women's National League 2023 Awards at the weekend.

The 2022/23 season proved to be a positive one on the pitch for Sam Griffiths’ side as they claimed fourth spot in the National League Northern Premier League standings.

Forward Amy Sims shared the Golden Boot award with Millie Ravening of Burnley with 18 goals in the league and Sims’ performances over the course of the campaign, netting 19 goals in 26 matches in all competitions, also saw her named in the Northern Premier League Team of the Season.

Goalkeeper Lola Smith claimed the Reserve Midlands League Golden Glove award for a stunning campaign in the Under-20s, who finished the 2022/23 season unbeaten in the league and by getting their hands on the league title.

General Manager Duncan Gibb was also handed the Outstanding Contribution to the FA Women’s National League accolade ahead of his impending departure this summer.

It was announced last month that Gibb would be standing down after ten years in the role and Gibb revealed at the time that he believed he had achieved everything he had set out to do and ‘now is the right time to pass the baton on’.
