Derby County’s new first-year scholars were formally welcomed to the club on Thursday evening as the Academy staged an Induction Evening at Pride Park Stadium.


The event was staged in the Toyota Suite and the 13 scholars, alongside their families, were able to hear from a host of club officials after making the step-up to join the Rams on a full-time basis this summer.

The evening was hosted by former Derby club captain Shaun Barker and Chief Executive Officer Stephen Pearce, Academy Manager Matt Hale, Head Coach Paul Warne, Under-21s Player-Coach Bradley Johnson and the club’s Designated Safeguarding Officer Tony Brittan all took to the stage.


The club’s owner, David Clowes, and other members of the Academy operations and coaching team were also in attendance.

This year’s new scholars are Demiane Agustien, Cruz Allen, Luke Banks, Owen Eames, Tristan Gill, Isaac Gordon, Niall McAndrew, Adisa Osayande, Justin Oguntolu, Johnson Osong, Harley Price, Jack Thompson and Marsel Tola - and they were all presented with caps to mark their induction.
